Oh New York
There is so much that I have to tell you;
I love you!
I love your coffee shops and bagel bars
Your tall buildings and angry business men that always seem pissed off even on your cool fall evenings
I love your central park!
Oh I love it there!
I love the men who drip with sweat cooking pretzels and hot dogs in tin carts
I love the taxi cabs that drive 80 mph towards a stop sign and make me trust that the man driving the yellow painted death box will slam on the breaks just in time
I love all of the voices that speak on your streets
The languages and accents and dialects that you bear
I love your spring nights where your rain drops pour from the sky and camouflage my mascara tear drops
I love that you aren’t afraid to break my heart in half
To make me feel so alone in your dark alleys
I’ve seen you cry too New York
that’s what makes you so special
you’re the only city that cries to me
The only city that shines so bright at 2pm and 2am
New York, I’m not done with you yet
I love your spring nights where your rain drops pour from the sky and camouflage my mascara tear drops
I love that you aren’t afraid to break my heart in half
To make me feel so alone in your dark alleys
I’ve seen you cry too New York
that’s what makes you so special
you’re the only city that cries to me
The only city that shines so bright at 2pm and 2am
New York, I’m not done with you yet
